Nancy Pierce

Nancy Pierce has over 30 years experience in public and private companies in strategy, business development, corporate governance, finance, operations, legal, information systems, financing, investor and media relations and mergers and acquisitions.

Pierce currently serves as President and Managing Director of KELD, an investment management and strategic advisement company focusing on advising and investing in young technology companies.  KELD is invested directly, and through partnerships, in a range of new technology frontiers looking for breakthrough technologies in energy, consumer, gaming and business software solutions, and communications.  KELD partners with leading venture capital firms and other strategic investors to provide the resources to maximize the potential of young companies.  In addition to her duties as President of KELD, Pierce is a director and audit committee member for publicly traded Zhone Technologies (Nasdaq:ZHNE) in Oakland, CA: serves on the board of directors of privately held The Cotery and TermScout, serves on the board of directors of the Silicon Flatirons entrepreneurship board and is the Managing Director of MCAP Ventures. 

Prior to KELD, Pierce was co-founder, director, chief financial officer, treasurer, corporate development officer and secretary of Carrier Access Corporation.She served as chief financial officer, secretary and treasurer for Carrier Access from 1992 through 2001.While chief financial officer, Pierce obtained and closed two venture-backed financings totaling over $16M.Pierce raised over $200 million in by directing the company’s initial public offering in 1998 and secondary offering in of 2002 and sale of the company in 2008.Prior to co-founding Carrier Access, Pierce held senior positions at IBM and ROLM Corporation in Silicon Valley.

In her role as corporate development officer, Pierce lead all legal transactions for the company and was principle in determining the strategic direction of Carrier Access by spearheading initiatives for strategic partnerships, identifying and implementing complementary company acquisitions and mergers, and for growing sales, OEM and distribution partnerships.She completed multiple asset purchases and mergers for the company and managed business development, investor relations, legal and facilities for the company.Prior to co-founding Carrier Access, Pierce held senior positions at IBM and ROLM Corporation in Silicon Valley.

Nancy has a BS from Colorado State University, a MBA from California State University, Chico and an honorary PhD in Commercial Science from St. Thomas Aquinus.
